The One Where I Did My First Pet Visit For Hospice

Blessing 12 of 52

As I mentioned in my last post, the blessings keep rolling through volunteering for Hospice. I’m finding so much fulfillment and purpose by giving of my time. The patients, staff and caregivers that I’ve met thus far are really inspiring and beautiful.

This week, I went on my first “Pet Peace of Mind” program assignment. It’s a gentleman that has five cats. The cats are 13 years old and have been together since they were kittens. My role when I visit is to feed the cats, clean their litter boxes and do any light cleaning for the patient. Oh and, also, chat with him as much as he prefers.

What a blessing it is to be able to serve the patients and their furry friends. The cats provide the utmost comfort, companionship and joy to their human. As I’ve said before, animals speak my soul language.
