The One Where I Made Hospice Comfort Calls

Blessing 11 out of 52

Volunteering for Hospice has gifted me many new experiences this year so far. It’s been a blessing to be of service for the greater good. Using my heart gifts and give of my time is what lights me up.

This week I had the pleasure of making my first round of comfort calls. Every Wednesday morning I have a list of caretakers I call to check-up on the patients. I ask to see if there are any concerns, questions, praises or even if they want to vent. I was able to chat with quite a few amazing people that are caring for their loved ones. The caretakers are very special and are the definition of selfless. It’s touching to hear their stories, what they’re going through and their love for their loved-one/friend.

I’m truly filled with so much gratitude to be able to be of service.

“There are only four kinds of people in the world. Those who have been caregivers. Those who are currently caregivers. Those who will be caregivers, and those who will need a caregiver.” – Rosalyn Carter
