The One Where I Received a New Car

Blessing 19 of 52

This week the blessing came looking for me. If I’m honest, blessings are always looking for us if we are open to receiving them. At this moment in my life, I’m living in full abundance of receiving the beautiful gifts God has in store for me.

Blessing 19 came to me when I least expected it. On Wednesday morning, I was getting ready to make the weekly Hospice comfort calls, when my Mother called me. She asked me if I wanted my stepdad’s Infiniti SUV. That’s right, just casually mentioned that they were talking and, with starting my new job, they thought I may want a new vehicle since I’ll be driving alot.

Now let me tell you about my current vehicle. She is the love of my life. A 2012 Lexus IS250 that I’ve had since 2014. She’s been through almost a decade with me and has literally driven me through life. She’s also the first car I’ve ever paid off on my own. Not only that, but she’s been such a blessing to others as I’ve leant her out quite a few times. Which actually at the moment is bringing up a lot of grief as I feel I didn’t respect her in regards to who I leant her out to. But, I do truly know she blessed others and that’s what I’ll choose to focus on.

Anyway, I had to process receiving such a generous gift. I even had to talk about it counseling as receiving is a word that I’ve had to work on, if you will. I ultimately chose to accept the car and now I’m the proud owner of an Infiniti Q60 SUV. I also still have my best pal, until I do sell her. That will be a letting go process as I haven’t really felt an attachment quite this strong to a car before.

It’s not everyday that you’re given a new car and it’s truly something I’ve never experienced quite like this. I have so much gratitude for God’s blessings, my mother, my stepdad and their generosity.
