The One Where I Started Shadowing the Hospice Reps

Blessing 24 of 52

When I set out on my 52 blessings in a year, I didn’t really have a set structure of how things were going to look. I just knew that I needed to get out of my self described “rut” by committing to doing one new thing a week. I hadn’t even thought about how that one new thing a week was going to come my way. Would I actively seek it or would I let God present it to me? Or would it be a little bit of both? Well, it has happened to be both. Some of the new blessings I have intentionally chosen and, others, God has surprised me with. Either way, the blessings are always something I have never experienced before. Some have gotten me out of my comfort zone, have been sent through challenges, have been straight fun and other’s have come my way through the sheer flow of life.

This week’s new experience, once again, has come through my Hospice role. I finally have gotten to the part of my orientation where I start shadowing my counterparts! Up until this point, I hadn’t experienced quite yet what I would be doing in my new role. Everything I had learned thus far, had been extremely beneficial, but I’ve been excited to see the “me’s”. I experienced meeting the reps for the first time, riding along with them and learning how they build their relationships and educate on Hospice. Everyone has such a passion for Hospice and it’s beautiful and encouraging to witness.

I had so much learning from everyone and still can’t believe I get to do this for a living!
