The One Where I Stayed At Hotel Indigo

Blessing 10 of 52

Things have been a little haywire lately in life (again) and I’m relying on God’s strength. Sometimes you just need a spur of the moment hotel stay and that’s what exactly what I did.

Long story short, I was on the phone with my mother and she mentioned she was going to put flowers on my grandmother’s grave on Sunday. My grandparent’s grave is located in Sarasota, Florida. That’s where my mom mostly grew up and I still have quite a few family members in the area. I had wanted to get away and as I was talking to my Mom I thought: “Huh, why don’t I just get a hotel for the night over in Sarasota and then meet you over there the next morning”. So, that’s what I did.

I stayed in a part of Sarasota down by the bay that I had never been before. The hotel I stayed was called Hotel Indigo in the arts district. It was boutique style and within walking distance to the water, the performing arts center and all kinds of restaurants and shops. I walked down to the water at sunset and in the morning. I also ordered dinner room service and watched reality TV which was absolute heaven.

Overall it was just what my heart, mind, body and soul needed.
